Ah, I just read the other post, sorry my post above I just answered without reading the others. So, it is possible to have a a driver (transister-not speaker) or amp designed that is out of phase. Conrad Johnson comes to mind, it was a regular part of their designs. If that is the case, it is...
Under normal circumstances, both should be in the same polarity. This is not opinion, fact. 2 woofers firing in the same direction cuts vas. Are you experimenting with vas or room cancelation? When you play, it'll be obvious from the bass output.
I've been a budget audiophile my entire adult life. As most of you realize, when you start getting expensive, the differences start becoming more and more minor. I've had some excellent pre's and have sat in front of some of the best. Overall, being frugal, I could never justify a pre at this...
Years gone by, I would have wanted something like this, but with 70 to 80 inch LEDs becoming more affordable, I've lost that passion. I could still very much enjoy it, but a 75 inch with good home theater sound quality also simplified. These days, I'd rather not go through it all.
These subs are all a wonderful value. There certainly are better subwoofers out there, but when you compare these at a price vs performance ratio, all are great.
The Kara has 2 sets of single ended outputs and 1 set of balanced. These can all run a sub. Unless maybe you also want a crossover built in the preamp. Any subwoofer with and amplifier built in today will have crossover built in. But either way. I find the P6 to be slightly better than the...
Nothing wrong with Schiit. If the Kara is affordable, I'd head that way, hard to beat for $699. If you need a bit less expensive, there are some decent used pre's on usaudiomart for $300 to $400 and there are some decent chinese pre's on Ali Express. If you want me to take a look, let me know.
I expect these sound very good with a bit of that Mc house sound, but with the attributes that audiophiles have been asking for. I'd love to sit in front of these in a good system.
I believe that you should at least try moving your woofers out of the corners. You are looking at a 10db boost from 60hz & down. I suspect moving the woofers out of the corners will bring that down at least 6db. You should end up with a much smoother more balanced transition.
I use 3.1. It works for me. I find a good sub for me is more impactful than the surround, but no doubt, with the right content I can see missing surround.
