I don't know if 'cancel out' is what would occur, but 'render superfluous' might be what happens. It would all depend on usage, location (relative to the listeners and the 12012's) and tuning really. A single 808 will run out of steam way before a pair of its larger brother would, so carefully...

I suppose you could take it in any direction you'd like. My comment was just the "thread drift" police speaking... ;) When you say "new", do you mean brand new? $650 is probably 1/3rd of what an 808 used to cost. For that price it might be worth owning just because.

This thread is really for people to post what type of sub(s) they own, so I'm not sure it's the best place to ask about something situation specific. You're likely to get more replies staring a new thread, but the short answer to your question is it depends upon what you're trying to achieve...
