TEAC Introduces the PD-507T, a New High-End Reference CD Transport

Yes theoretically, but after looking at a lot of measurements, I think jitter is basically negligible in terms of audio output for just about anything I've seen. As for vibration and mechanical noise, really, even inexpensive players are built well enough. I think this is a beautiful toy but...

What got you into home theater… what ignited your urge to want a home theater?

Yes to my understanding it has different lasers and whatever is left working, I don't need since I use much more modern video players. I already fixed it once, it conked out soon after. Now it's resting on a shelf and hasn't been turned on in 10 years. Shame really, the sound quality was great...

What got you into home theater… what ignited your urge to want a home theater?

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, the first setup, back in 2006. He took me to listen to speakers (I ended up with a Triangle 5.1 system which I still have and it sounds pretty good) and put me in contact with someone who sold me a Rotel AV receiver and a Denon UDP which sorted me out for a few...

TEAC Introduces the PD-507T, a New High-End Reference CD Transport

Don't all "transports" and CD players when using their digital output give precisely the same bit stream output? I swear I read about this somewhere...

What got you into home theater… what ignited your urge to want a home theater?

I went to my now father-in-law's apartment for the first time, around 2000 (can't even remember). He had a sound proofed room with big Magnat speakers, surround sound speakers, a subwoofer, a Harman-Kardon surround sound receiver and a projector. It was amazing and the microbe fully set in. In...

Onkyo Expands Its Icon Series Lineup with the New C-30 High-Performance CD Player

The other separates in the series are thousands, they could have included SACD capability and upped the price from the measly $349 but what do I know...

Onkyo Expands Its Icon Series Lineup with the New C-30 High-Performance CD Player

I have to say, I love the look - the whole Icon series looks high class. Shame they didn't offer SACD playback with this one.

Onkyo Unveils Its Stunning New Icon Series of AV Components

They look really nice! I wonder if any of the P-80's analog inputs can be configured as HT bypass? I could use one to add Dirac to my system.

JBL Targets Gen Z with a Slick New Line of Gear and a Cringey Marketing Campaign

Winter Surprise! Marantz Launches Its Latest Integrated Amp, the MODEL 40n

Honestly I don't know, I look at the spec sheet and I'm really puzzled. If a boutique company like Lyngdorf can make a device that does almost everything* this one does except it has more power, includes one of the best room correction systems on the market (complete with a high quality...

Winter Surprise! Marantz Launches Its Latest Integrated Amp, the MODEL 40n

At this price it should have room correction. Otherwise you have better options from Lyngdorf (with RoomPerfect) and NAD (with Dirac). Without room correction there's the EVO 150 from Cambridge Audio, with similar streaming capabilities but a lot more power.

    NAD T778 A/V Surround Receiver - Cool Running, Cool Looking… A Powerhouse of a Component! - Review

Well it was thouroughly measured, it’s not a subjective opinion… NAD stuff hasn’t fared so well lately, in general. I think just the M33 got a pass. I’m quoting just from memory so could be entirely wrong, but I believe this receiver is compatible with modules v1 and there isn‘t and extremely...

    NAD T778 A/V Surround Receiver - Cool Running, Cool Looking… A Powerhouse of a Component! - Review

Wasn‘t this kindof skewered on ASR for being rather mediocre? I was looking into buying one but no HDMI 2.1 and lots of bugs and problems in the owners’ threads.
