I bought a replacement 650 or 670 (can't remember) in case my other ever died. It looks like if I want to transfer the existing profile over I'll still be OK? But it does stink that after support is finished that I'll never be able to make changes if I ever change out a component.
I replaced an Onkyo pro pre-pro with a modern (at the time) AVR (Denon X4300) to get HDMI inputs and Atmos processing.
I upgraded my speakers from plain black boxes with problematic powered woofers to speakers (Revel) with nice cabinets and a really nice 3 way center.
I upgraded my subs...
Two PSA TV2112's as subs and a pair of JBL 12" in a HeZe platform for tactical response. Subs are aligned via REW using a miniDSP 2x4 HD to get a pretty decent response pre equalization. The run Audyssey Mult-X and make small corrections for subwoofer "distance" to get a much better transition...
I bought a 70" 4K TV in 2015. It's not HDR because from what I was reading at the time it wasn't a given it would take hold anytime soon. Swing and a miss for me. A few years ago I had a pretty big itch to get a new fairly high end set, but the paralysis by analysis got the better of me. While...
Although I've bought some new equipment and much bigger and better subs, I'd say my biggest improvements have all been due to learning and applying things I've read on forums such as this and AVS. REW and a miniDSP to really dial in the sub integration before any EQ or room correction, really...
Probably not too surprising? Once you get the initial infrastructure and catalog set up (lots of work), maintaining and adding new stuff is probably way less labor intensive.
Looks like something Devialet would come up. Small form factor, interesting looking, probably good performance, but a price tag that excludes many. Too pricy for the soundbar/Bluetooth speaker crowd, and most normal enthusiasts would go a different direction for the same cost.
If nothing else, I think you should at least time align the two subs. Unless they are very close together, delaying one via the DSP and measuring with REW you might get more output and probably a lot better native response before EQing.
I get that in a general sense. To me it sounded like he wanted to go over the measurements specifically and how they were taken more so than the review in general. In the one we're talking about he seemed to not like how the impedance curve was generated. Basically if you do a measurement...
Thanks @JStewart
So he wants to approve your measurements before you can publish them? I understand first impressions are lasting ones, and if there is a mistake, the damage is done. Sure a retraction or revision can be made, but many people might have already made up their mind and moved on...
Were the videos in post #1 taken down? They say "private" and when I click on the Youtube icon in the bottom right corner, it just takes me to YT's main page. I see Erin's Troubadour #2 video which I started watching. I also don't see any reviews in the index on ASR, although in the forums I saw...
