    Pioneer Elite VSX-LX505 Owners Thread

Indeed, I have. It's okay if you don't have subs, but it's not the best with subs because it's difficult to time-align the subs with the main speakers. If you can get them time-aligned, it will work fine. If you have subs, it will sweep the subs below the crossover frequency you have set in...

Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-600M II - Novice's Hot Take

Cool setup... love the idea, as I have a similar setup. There is a computer program for EQ... can't remember the name of it. I've used it in the past and it works well.

That would definitely narrow it up, but you also might consider leaving an opening of about 2 feet that you can test to see if it helps with room modes. If it doesn't, you could close it off and finish it. If it does, you could cover it with GOM material.

    Large room, minimal budget

There are a few options, I think. The old-fashioned 2x4 stud walls with sheetrock. You could get creative and make them somewhat of a Helmholtz resonator-type wall. Leave an opening of a foot or two along the walls, then stuff them with insulation. However, it's hard to know how effective this...

Or... start at one end and make it narrower to the other end... 19' on one end... angled to 23' on the other end.

    Large room, minimal budget

GIK will also help you, and I don't think you'll be anywhere near even half of $20k. I could see spending a few thousand, but the main idea will be to eliminate the echo in the room. Carpet, chairs, corner bass traps, maybe a few panels overhead since the ceiling is fairly low. If I remember...

Goodbye HDMI, Hello GPMI? China's New Multimedia Connector Could Really Shake Things Up

Good point... the cabling could be costly. HDMI fiber optic is still considerably higher than regular HDMI, but at least it has come down some.

Goodbye HDMI, Hello GPMI? China's New Multimedia Connector Could Really Shake Things Up

Things that make you go, hmmmmm! I'll be curious to see if it is adopted and how it would be implemented. I would assume we would continue to see HDMI connections even if GPMI caught on worldwide.
