The type of clarity OP mentions could be due to reduced non-linear distortions. This is a spec that people rarely measure properly or understand well. For that reason it is not talked about often, but absolutely ruins the sound when it is high.
The best way to describe high non-linear...
It would be nice if EQ could be applied to FSAF measurement signal, similar to how you can do that with sweeps. It would be useful where you are interested in the N+D of a speaker/driver after it has been tuned to a target frequency response.
Is that something that could be implemented in the...
@John Mulcahy I actually did get what you meant by "using amplitude ratios". But as long as it calculates percentage f2 ± 2f1, f2 ± 3f1, ... , I'll be happy :)
@troscat Yes it is a custom setup (screenshot below)
@John Mulcahy Thanks for clarifying. For my use case, treating it like SMPTE/DIN works, so lowering the threshold would do the job.
In two-tone IMD measurements, REW frequently fails to detect D3L, D3H and beyond. For example, in the attached image, D3L (7kHz) is clearly above the noise floor, but is not detected.
