Almost all newer home construction uses strapping attached to joists, then drywall is attached to that. This allows for the phishing of wiring in all directions. So you could ceiling mount. About a days work.

You do not need the hd version for subs. Yes it has more PeQ slots but in my opinion the 6 you get with the 2x4 are fine. As for delay. The non hd give you just over 8 ft of delay. What that means is that as long as any one sub is not greater then 8 ft from the mlp your golden. I'm running 4...
