Listening fatigue: speaker change or new amp could be the solution ?

Hello, I have a HT 7.1 based on GKF horn Speakers (a french maker) with moderate acoustic treatment and EQ done with REW. The room is around 18m2 but (no "back wall") open on the kitchen. They sound great for home cinema but I found them too fatiguing in stéréo even at moderate volume. As I...

MDAT File and Pictures-Help do I need any treatment/which one ?

Yeah, I see... First the bass treatment in any corner (or neer in my case) and then the first reflection point if needed. Thanks, I'll search for products deliverable in my area that follow your advice:"my next suggestion is to place bass absorbers at the front wall as close to the corners as...

MDAT File and Pictures-Help do I need any treatment/which one ?

Ah @thothsong .. another POV that will not make my life easier :) as I'm single, it's not an easy task to check the mirror trick but I would say that the first reflection should be effectively just before the window and on the first bookcase that I try to empty and perhaps put away. I'm lost as...

Thanks @thothsong & @ddude003 for your fast answer ! @thothsong I could probably put some bass trap on the left side of the screen but no way on the right so I don't know if the result would be even worse or not ? do you have advice ? for the first reflections, I thought to put some amovible...

    Replacement B&W PV1 (first gen) ??

I did it 2 to 3 years ago maybe so I have the files but it's hard to use them and I didn't find a relatively easy way to have infos on the use of the graphs and what should be corrected (by software or acoustic treatment). I just saw a part of the forum named "Room Acoustics and Treatments" so...

    Replacement B&W PV1 (first gen) ??

In fact, I'm in search for upgrading my home cinema and it could (have been ?) a possibility but it seems not to be the right one for me because, yeah I'm pretty happy with my current sub and my money should go anywhere else. I'll create another post in the right section but if you can give me...

    Replacement B&W PV1 (first gen) ??

Hello, I have an old but still well fonctionning sub B&W PV1 (first gen) that's working fine. In my home cinema of roughly 20m2 with no backwall (opened to the kitchen), with a use of 90% movie, would you change it for a more modern sub (or 2...) and for which model in a budget of 1000/1500€ ...

    From BW to SVS ?

Thanks @witwald ! Now I have great infos for the SB and PB-2000 :) but you confirmed together that either choice should be a big improvement over my PV1. I'll wait my holidays in august to go in Paris listen both SB and PB 2000 (and why not come with my PV1 if possible...) to choose with your...

    From BW to SVS ?

I don't know... 2 subs seems a little complicated for me to parameter even if I understand the argument of the best response that is verified. Another point that push me towards the PB-2000 is the deeper max frequency. Thanks for your advice concerning the choice between SP/PB that I'll follow.

    From BW to SVS ?

Thanks for your reply I'll check for the free trial because it's a great way to compare "in situ" if there's a sufficient gap between the two subwoofers to buy a new SVS or not. Thanks for the idea !
