I had considered that but the TV is not my main monitor, I have a 27" 4K LG LED monitor for that. The TV is used only when I'm doing audio production work which can involve dozens of channels which make for a very busy interface which is too crowded on the 27". The auto dimming was quite...
LG C1 OLED here which I got for a great price just before the C2 was released ie. about 3 years ago. I'm 100% happy with this TV.
Had to tweak it a bit to get my preferred picture though, out of the box IIRC it's in "Vivid" mode which is really unnatural. The only other tweak was to get the...
Dr. Strangelove was mentioned above. Excellent.
I love Peter Sellers. My favourite would be "Being There", the juxtaposition of the craziness of society and politics with an individual's personal inner peace is intense and heartwarming.
Special mention to "Poor Things"
But I love a good action...
HLC looks interesting albeit rather expensive. I just tried it on Debian 12 and the plugin host started and loaded but as I didn't want to spend too much time and I use JACK with configured EQ plugin as default audio, I didn't test it with audio.
Pipewire has a native filter chain module which...
Poor Things would be my vote for Best Picture. Intriguing and entertaining all the way through. Beautiful production and superb acting.
Oppenheimer is great for a docu-drama, but ultimately that's all it is.
I you want the most budget-friendly option, Behringer ECM8000 is quite decent and only 35 bucks from Sweetwater. I know several pro sound engineers who use them for live concert setup. They have a calibration file available but I'm not sure if it's for individual mics or generic...
Hi @VoidX and thanks for posting. It looks like excellent software.
I just ran this through Virustotal and it detected no malware, including NOD32 which is what I have on my Windows system. I'm a Linux user 99.9% of the time so would mainly use it to generate EQ or IR profiles but will try it...
The website is not even HTTPS so that's a no from me.
A Lite version of REW would be a godsend. All I really need is a spectrum analyser and a way to generate either a room correction EQ or IR file from several mic measurements, which it does excellently already of course.
Certainly it's an...
John was an engineer of many famous recordings in Australia from the 60s on, and more recently a renowned worldwide studio designer and creator of the hugely popular Studio Design Forums. A sad loss.
I just came across this thread looking for an answer to the "Timed out waiting for space to write the fade out block to the soundcard" problem which I was getting upon closing the Generator. Worked out it can be avoided by increasing the Output Device buffer size.
I also initially had confusion...
I just needed a little retail therapy so bought a pair of Austrian Audio Hi-X55 headphones.
They are so totally different in sound from M50x, at first I was wondering where the bass has gone. A few dB of wide EQ boost around 55Hz more than made up for it and they sound wonderful with so much...
They certainly don't lack any bass with around -2dB @ 20Hz but I find it pleasant rather than excessive. I think most closed back headphones exhibit this characteristic to some extent compared to open back ones. I do cut a couple of dB at 4kHz but I think that's more of a personal preference.
