Sorry I could not read the entire thread.
I find I get complacent with with my audio system. It meets all my needs. In my opinion, it sounds fantastic to me. However, I know better than to chase the tail of the dragon. I refuse to buy hi-end interconnects, lift my cables off the floor, or...
I am going to recap my vintage stereo speakers. Before I do this, I would like to sweep them so I can do a before and after comparison.
Should I sweep the speakers as a stereo pair or each speaker individually?
I am using a PreSonus Audiobox box and Behringer mic. I am feeding this into the...
There is value in the aesthetic appearance of the original McIntosh caps. Since Mac no longer makes them, you are stuck with 3rd-party caps from China or Germany with a high probability the German caps came via China. They don't look the same.
I agree with the marketing hype and it’s hard to...
Thank you for your comments MeiamRare and it always amuses me how people jump to conclusions, and I mean that humorously. I am from the old school that the less you have to turn up an amp, the less it is likely to distort. I have a lot of overhead ad don't have to turn it up more than 30%.
Why...
I still have a technical problem and it relates to my PresSonus Audiobox USB 96. I need to make a connection to do a loopback on channel 2 I believe. My understanding from the YouTube videos is to take ch2 out and connect it to ch2 in.
The back of my Audioboc has MIDI IN and MIDI out. There...
A work in progress but as it sits today:
Preamp: McIntosh C48
Power Amp: McIntosh MC-500
DAC: PS Audio DirectStream Sr.
Music Server: Aurender N100H 4TB
DDC: Matrix X-SPIDIF-2
SACD: Marantz SA14s1
Speakers: Celestion Ditton 66 Studio Monitors
Sub: SVS SB-2000 Pro
I would just unplug the two RCA connectors from the SACD and patch into that. It is difficult to get to the back of the preamp so it is just convenience. No SACD involvement other than stealing its cables.
Thanks! I have to look through my totes of cables I've collected over the years before...
Hi Ddude003, thanks for getting back to me.
I have REW on my Lenovo laptop, Win 7. It's a McIntosh C48 and I have several RCA imputs available as I use XLR and digital on the preamp. I think the SACD is the only RCA input I use.
I am wondering if it would be easier to unplug the RCA from my...
I am in the process of rebuilding the Ditton 66 studio monitors for my home stereo system. I am doing diaphragms right now and xovers after. My speakers connect to a McIntosh power amp and then a McIntosh preamp for the inputs. It is not easy to get access to the wiring so how do I set my...
