Great review. While this is not a family movie if you like action and gunfire you won't sleep through this one...it's too real.

I could not get it to play on my AV10 or Oppo Blu-ray so I could not test it with my (4) SB5000 subs. It did play on my desktop PC but that is not the way to listen to this.

I am sure that Lumagen’s new ArtisaN 8K Ready video and audio processor would pair very nicely with Kaleidescape's 8K Strato K player which will probably be in that room at CEDIA.

Can we download their demo to a flash drive and then play it back in our theater?

I have upgraded from a Strato V to a Strato K which is outputting 8K video and includes their new 4K Cinematic format. While the Strato V was basically a plug and play install with my existing Marantz AV10 settings, this new Strato K player requires resetting quite a few settings in my Marantz...

Noticeable upgrade viewing 4K Cinematic. Video and audio both are improved with Strato K. With 8K down the road it's nice to be ahead of the curve. If you have a projector or a large size flat panel you won't regret adding a Strato K player to your theater room.

Yes. Compared to 4K Blu-ray audio played on Oppo UDP-203.

The Kaleidescape Strato V audio was actually a bigger improvement in my theater room than the video but that may change with their Strato K player.

If you keep the filmmaker setting on automatic the JVC will override your frame adapt preference when it sees the filmmaker flag incoming from your source. If you keep the filmmaker setting on manual the JVC will see the filmmaker flag but not act on it and frame adapt stays in play. I don't...

I can only speak about the results in my theater room...your mileage may vary based on your listening room.

Todd great job with Kaleidescape. Lots of good info shared. Thanks for getting my question about filmmaker mode answered. Since the Strato Players output a filmmaker flag, if you have a JVC Laser Projector and you have your JVC Projector filmmaker mode set to automatic it will override the JVC...
