    Thunders

The house shakes due to the shockwave produced by the 30,000 degree Kelvin lightning bolt that heats the air. A subwoofer can't reproduce the shockwave.

    Atmos speaker placement

Here is the layout with a 22' long x 15' wide x 8' high room using the Dolby Atmos Room Design Tool that I have from Dolby. I used a 9' high ceiling because Dolby assumes you are using speakers that can be pointed to the listening position. This set the tweeter at 8'. If the speakers are...

The Subwoofer Placement Tool uses standard plane wave calculations that have been around for a long time. This RTJ Audio theater was designed about two years ago, but it just now being completed. The subwoofer placement is almost identical to the Subwoofer Placement Tool's recommendation. The...

    Help with updating audio interface.

Connect the M2 to the laptop with a USB C cable. You don't need to do any soundcard calibration. The M2 has a completely flat frequency response. You connect the Behringer mic to input 1 and press the corresponding 48V button on the M2 to activate phantom power. Load your mic calibration file...

    Kaleidescape Owners Thread

No. I built my own house 4 years ago and did not install any ethernet cables. I use Wi-Fi 6 and have plenty of distributed speed for streaming 4K throughout the house to many devices simultaneously. My Kaleidescape Strato 12Tb is connected to the wireless network and can download at its maximum...

Note powerline ethernet adapters need to be on the same electrical leg in order to function. Usually this would be all the same odd breakers or all the same even breakers.

Rather than storage space, you should just consider the total cost per movie. With 665 movies I'm around a total cost of $22 per movie. If I was to have a enough storage for all my movies I'd still be <$30/movie. This compares very favorably with those who buy the latest disc version of UHD movies.

Don't buy those Rocky movies for that price. Wait until they go on sale. I bought mine for $14.99 each.

Here is a picture of the Strato 4K Movie Player and the Terra Prime 22TB Server together. Below that is an RME M-32 32 channel Dante DAC and the StormAudio ISP EVO outputting 32 channels via AES67 to the RME DAC. I just checked and I currently have 665 movies and concerts. I have a Strato 12TB...

16 channel audio interface for use with REW

I have several Motu interfaces and really like them. You could go with a Motu Stage-B16. It has 16 mic inputs with phantom power.

    2023-2024 NCAA Football

Weird trivia - I attended grade school with Kalen DeBoer for 3 years in Milbank, SD. He was in kindergarten when I was in 4th grade so I didn't actually know him. :) I also recently found out that someone in my actual class from Milbank is now the Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
