The mic was recognized after doing the setup steps suggested by Litolff, then uninstalling old java, then switching REW to java and off of ASIO

Each time my REW install said java installer wasn't working. I got it directly from Oracle, installed, and the REW update went forward no problems. Still can't recognize the UMIK mic despite the system seeing it though.
