Alignment of speaker setup in living room

I cannot say why the graph of the SW has this shape, but I did check again and the setting is definitely 120Hz. Also I moved around the speakers a bit, but with the given space and shape of the room, there is little I can do. There was one position that helped a bit. O moved the speakers...

Alignment of speaker setup in living room

I did start again from zero without using Audyssey. I tried different XO settings, but still I think that 120 gives me the least amount of dips bet ween 100 and 200 Hz. Can you take a look at the results and let me know, if there is something I could still improve.

Alignment of speaker setup in living room

I am not sure with the house curve. I do have the Audyssey app, but there it is rather difficult to get a good curve set up wth the finger on the tablet. I did try to run Audyssey again. Still puzzles me that I finds 40Hz as the best crossover. I did also do some more measurements with...

Alignment of speaker setup in living room

I started now again from zero. I did measure the subs and aligned them using the MiniDSP. Then I applied some EQ to the subs. Afterwards I did align the subs with the fronts using the alignment tool. I did work with a crossover of 120Hz as that seemed to give me the best results. Then I did...

Alignment of speaker setup in living room

I did listen to to the settings yesterday for some time and I am not particularly happy with what Audyssey does in my environment. I appreciate that the frequency range is not very even in my room, but I had quite some ringing in my ears after listening (and it was not even every loud). I...

Alignment of speaker setup in living room

Here are now finally the measurements after running Audyssey. Funny enough, Audyssey suggested a crossover of 40Hz. I did not not change that for the measurements but it looks a bit odd to me. I did reset the MiniDSP before running Audysse, so there is no additional EQ or delay anywhere else...

Alignment of speaker setup in living room

Alright, then I was probably on the wrong way. I thought when adding a second sub, I would need to first align and equalise the two subs through the MiniDSP. So I basically deleted the previous steps and started from scratch with the measurements I showed here. The timing can not be favorable...

Alignment of speaker setup in living room

Hello, I did now apply a change to my setup. I added another sub (SVS SB1000) to my setup to improve the response in the bass area. Now I would like to start from scratch and get my setup properly aligned. But I am not exactly sure where to start. I did measure the fullrange response for the...

Alignment of speaker setup in living room

Alright, I think I managed to follow the steps you took to do this analysis. However there are things that I still do not fully understand. First of all, what is my aim: I am trying to configure my speaker setup in my living without making to many changes to the room itself. I am well aware...

Alignment of speaker setup in living room

Ok, I did try to go through that threat and then tried to replicate what you did with my measurements. But eventually I struggle already with the average of FL and FR. When I used the trace arithmetic, I do get a different result than you, although smoothing is set the same.

Would you mind to explain the steps you took to get to this result? Would like to leanr on how to do this myself.

Sorry, the last sentence was cut. Can you explain that bit with the Xo again?

Alignment of speaker setup in living room

Thanks for the reply. I was not aware of this specific difference between the channels. I made now again the measurements you asked for. The attached files have two sets of four measurements (one marked with Audyssey in the name). The SW was made using HDMI 2 with the speaker disconnected. All...

Alignment of speaker setup in living room

Hello, it is obvious to me, that the decay is a problem on its own. The room is rather large and my wife prefers is rather minimalistic. I am planning for some treatment, but I guess that will nt be enough to cope with the situation appropriately. Does that completely prevent speaker...
