As a fellow retiree, I have to warn you. Getting back into the hifi scene can be hazardous to your wallet but you will get some good advise here to help you keep as much as possible! Welcome.
Reliability and support have been an issue with Onkyo for some time. I’ve had a NR1030 that I liked but, it died of HDMI failure. My current RZ50 has been in for repair 4-5 times and it’s less than a year old. Onkyo has yet to agree to replace it or even the amp board they’ve identified as the...
A year ago this month I upgraded my 65" flat panel Samsung TV to a 100" Hisense mini-LED U8. It's compatible with Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10+, is certified as IMAX Enhanced, and supports DTS and Dolby advanced audio formats. I have on "open concept" viewing room with tons of light coming in...
Hey Sonnie. I like it. My main online music is Apple Music. It has a built-in app for that so it works great. I can cast to my iPhone so I get the same interface on my phone as the A6. Sound quality seems good.
My cataract surgery made my whole world a brighter place to live. I currently sit about 14 feet from a 100” Hisense U8 flatscreen and I can tell you that on some bright scenes I have to shirk my eyes from the screen. Not sure if that’s my eyes or the HDR effect but it is glorious all the same.

I've never owned a pair of Klipschorns but I've got the room for them, and I'm attracted to the super high efficiency and "live" performance sound I've heard they can produce. I've also got 3 Heresy for restoration that I could match to them for a full 5.1 system.
Just acquired these 1967 Klipschorn base bins. The bins are in pretty good shape. I will be restoring them using all brand-new original Klipsch AK5 parts. They were originally D-Style cornerhorns in raw birch but I think I'll either build new AK5 style top hats or create a new D-Style retro...
