Hundreds of your Warner Bros DVDs probably don’t work anymore

I don't disagree, but I often wonder how many folks never have experienced the "good" sound available on Blu-rays, and think what they hear elsewhere is the best available. You can have a fabulous system that's cost you thousands of $, but if the source material is poor, all you get is poor...

Hundreds of your Warner Bros DVDs probably don’t work anymore

Is the Streaming Audio up to the level / standards as what's available on Blu-ray?

Hundreds of your Warner Bros DVDs probably don’t work anymore

Thanks for the posts Gents. This opened my eyes to something I should take a hard look at. I've resisted converting our DVDs to anything (other than an occasional back-up for the Kids to play at the Cabin that I'd burn with the long gone Clone DVD). My passion is music, and I've gotten over...

Streaming services. Can you actually hear a difference? What do you listen for?

I have tried SIrius / XM radio numerous times and frankly it's just painful for me to listen to it. So it's not even commissioned in the last couple of cars we bought new. I have a Buddy who thinks it's great, so each to their own. Spotify is the preferred platform here because we have a Family...

Streamer and subscriptions: How are you streaming music?

I moved from vinyl to CDs (with well over 1200 pristine Albums in my collection then) ages ago. Then got into MP3s early on but found them lacking. But when FLAC came along, it had me rip all of my CDs (my Brothers, Friends, etc.) and eventually download many others to fill the gaps. Now I have...

Audio Cu Connects Speakers Via Your Home's Power Lines, Has Achieved Dolby Atmos Certification

I tried a couple of Ethernet over powerlines systems as was disappointed with both. At the time I thought the tech could easily be migrated to Audio, as I thought, and still do, that the current speaker wired systems will go away for the industry to remain relevant and grow.

Tekton says It's NOT Suing Anybody... Breaks the seal on reviewers that measure speakers

I just had to chime in here as this is an important issue for those who are interested good gear for this hobby. Some here have expressed that their evaluation technique is to listen to the speakers in their home and evaluate them solely based on that, and basically reviews and measurements be...

AudioQuest HDMI Cable Review Series: Pearl 18, BlueBerry 18, Cherry Cola 48, Cinnamon 48, and ThunderBird 48

Hi Todd, Thanks for the reply. As a past active member of IEEE for well over a decade, I'm well familiar with specifications and testing methodology, so it's good to see your efforts in this regard for those who need this education. You are correct the Blueberry series seems like a bargain when...

AudioQuest HDMI Cable Review Series: Pearl 18, BlueBerry 18, Cherry Cola 48, Cinnamon 48, and ThunderBird 48

Thanks for the video reviews Todd. I could only handle checking out one of the Videos as I struggle severely with cables that are outrageously over priced for what they deliver. And these are amongst that group of suppliers who do that regularly. The only good thing is at least the most...

HSU Research CCB-8 Bookshelf Speaker Review

We had some JBL L-36s refoamed some years ago and they are still great. They were my wife's first speakers when we were just dating, and even though we haven't used them in years (they were retired when we renovated and she wanted small speakers for the family room), she won't part with them.

HSU Research CCB-8 Bookshelf Speaker Review

Great idea! That way you get to figure out which one sounds better in your environment driven by /with your other equipment. SVS includes return shipping in your price so the risk is certainly minimal. Just a word of caution, for really critical analysis, don't place them side by side. (CCB-8s...
