I agree, there's no comparison between the results I got with YPAO and ARC Genesis. To be fair, my flagship Yamaha is from 2014, so I'm sure they've made YPAO and other improvements since then. And I know that the better DACs and circuitry in the AVM 90 are major factors besides the RC software...
Thank you! :T
This is a big step up from my Yamaha and the results have been very satisfying. Everything sounds so much clearer with smooth yet powerful bass, crisp highs, more detail and no smearing. I don't think I'll need to do any tweaking, as I've done in the past...but I think I've told...
Couldn't resist the sale, so I purchased an AVM 90. Setup was a little confusing at first with its "virtual inputs", but once I figured it out and ran ARC Genesis, it was smooth sailing.
You should connect your laptop to the AVR via HDMI, and not using the TV at all (it is not needed for REW and it can also interfere with signals sent from REW to the AVR). Better off leaving the TV off while using REW.
I don't have a Denon, but I've read some users have problems when using the...
That error message says that your Q90A TV doesn't support the REW output. Turn your TV off, it is not needed. Your laptop/computer should have an HDMI connection to your AVP and the AVP should NOT be passing it on to the TV. You'll also need to go back to REW Preferences and verify you've...
I agree, if Pure Direct is turned on it bypasses other functions, and multi channel may be one of them. If you are only able to play left or right speaker sweeps, it's either how REW is sending the signal (meaning REW is not setup for multi channel) or the receiver isn't setup to process multi...
The above quotes helped another user get setup for multi channel (see this thread). As I mention above, ASIO was used with older versions of REW and the videos you saw were probably made at that time. The Java driver should be used with the latest REW versions, and hopefully you'll see your...
I have been using the Outlaw OAW4 Wireless Audio System for my rear subwoofer for over 5 years and haven't had any issues. It transmits/receives over one of four different channels, which may resolve your interference problem. Here's a link, in case you're interested...
I live about an hour east of there, in Loveland. The rear of our house faces west and we have a similar view of the mountains around Eldora, Rocky Mountain National Park and Longs Peak (the local fourteener). I didn't know that piano picture was taken at Caribou, thanks for that info.
Welcome and Happy Retirement!
In case you haven't found it, there's a Some guides to REW and acoustic measurement thread that may help you get started and answer some of your questions.
I started with the Getting Started with REW document mentioned in the tread. At the time it was first...
For me, one of the positives of watching the old cartoons was the orchestra music. I don't know if that started my love of music, but it certainly exposed me to a genre I might not have ever listened to (it's not the main thing I listen to, but it is in the mix).
A few years ago, I stumbled...
