The Right To Repair Bill in the US.

This has been a thing in the automotive world for a long time. The manufacturers are constantly getting around it somehow. I can't really think of anything in a car that is repaired and not just replaced in a modern car. Also there is usually specific programming to the specific vehicle for...

    Thomann t.racks DSP 204 to 408

I understand this is old. I have nearly the same question. Also I love the software. It does so much for our hobby. I am looking to replace my MiniDSP flex. I have noise issues from the power supply of my CVR amps back feeding. I came across the Thomann DSP 4x4 mini pro, and DSP 206. I...

    Favourite music genre

I like all kinds of music. I tend to gravitate toward the heavy metal, nu metal or some of the very early rap. . I picked this video for shock value. The band is very good. I really like female leads in metal bands. Hailstorm, Pretty Reckless, Within Temptation.

madVR and Ascend AV Collaborate to Open an "Experience Center" in the Midwest

I went to Mwave last year. It was a terrific time. Getting to have conversations with owners, or other high ranking people, without pressure to buy stuff, about the products they offer is fantastic. The atmosphere is not like any other show I have been to. I didn't notice any 2 channel...

    Active riser, bass trap?

Ok, I think I have the final shaker placement done. I have 3 shakers mounted to a piece of plywood, that is then Velcroed to the frame of the chairs, I also have a couple of screws to solid mount the shaker plate to the frame of the chair. This works very well. No unwanted noises. The chairs...

Sine sweep used for impulse response

Sort of a related question. Speakers are designed to reproduce sound, so how/why would reproducing a perfect sign wave damage them? I would think that reproducing music with distortion (heavy metal) would be more likely to damage them.

    Active riser, bass trap?

It was an unwanted noise. Much like when you overheat a voice coil, and it makes a scratching noise. When I called Parts Express, he made it sound like it's somewhat common.

    Active riser, bass trap?

Updated pictures. I removed the shakers from the platform and installed them into the chair arms. I didn't like the effect of this. The arm shook and not much else. I then removed them from the arms and mounted a piece of plywood to the bottom of the frame. With Velcro and a couple of...

    Active riser, bass trap?

Sorry it's been a while since I've worked in the theater area. I had to replace my furnace and some other life obstacles happened. I have re ran audyssey. I see only very slight changes in the measurements. I attribute these changes to the new furnace sounding different. At this point I...

    Active riser, bass trap?

I played with this for quite some time. I turned the subs off through the Marantz, and ran he fronts in full range. If I have the Audyssey MultiEQ set to L/R bypass it sounds best. As I remember it used to be. I expected the Audyssey off setting to sound the same as bypass, but it is not at...

    Active riser, bass trap?

New measurements with the finished shaker platform. Fronts and surrounds tilted back with 3/4 inch spacers I also boosted the subs PEQ at 20hz a little. No other changes. First 1 is platform on, second is platform off. Audyssey is on for all of it. Still sounds as if I am listening with...
