Which microphone to choose to take measurements with Audiolense ??? THANKS

Are there any downsides to using a USB mic with Audiolense? In this configuration, there's one clock for the DAC and a separate one for the ADC in the mic, which is different from using an audio interface (eg., Focusrite Scarlett Solo or 2i2) to both play and record the sweeps. Does Audiolense...

Pioneer Elite Makes Massive Statement with New Flagship Receiver, VSX-LX805

As an Emotiva RMC-1L owner, I'm tempted by this new Pioneer. The Emotiva has been a disaster from day one with unreliable HDMI switching, sound dropouts, and poor interactive performance. The only thing the RMC-1L has going for it is that, when the stars align, it sounds terrific. The only thing...

    Dirac Adjustments for “bright” sound

Sliding the curtain left will help. It looks like your target only drops about 3 dB from 1 kHz to 20 kHz. That seems a little too gradual to me. I generally prefer a target that's closer to -5 dB over that range. This will more closely match the natural response of your loudspeakers + room.

    Dirac Adjustments for “bright” sound

I agree with JStewart. Tough to say without seeing your target curve. Here's what I'm using for my Legacy Audio Focus XD speakers in our little family room home theater. Tonality sounds neutral to me. The trick seems to be creating a target curve that does not deviate too far from your...

    How do my graphs look?

I like subbass as much as the next guy, but there's nearly 30 dB of difference between the left and right channels at 25 Hz. That's not normal. If he knows what he's doing, he should be able to figure that out. He asked for feedback…my feedback is to change things in his room/system or...

    How do my graphs look?

We have not heard from the OP, @Underdog in a while. I'm still curious to understand how they took their measurements and why they think the left and right channels are so radically different. It has to be more than acoustics.

    How do my graphs look?

Yeah. I know. Current listening environment is a loft space in a rental home. The back half of the right wall opens to the floor below. If we were staying here, I'd cover the walls of that staircase with acoustic panels to kill the echo. IIRC, RT60 shoots up to over 4 seconds at high frequencies...

    How do my graphs look?

Yes. Measurements from my room were taken from the same microphone position, before and after. It's been a while since I've taking the time to measure sweeps from multiple locations…not just the MLP, but last time I did using Acourate filters, the correlation was quite good. The tonality is...

    How do my graphs look?

I don't have a post-correction .mdat from my friend's room, but I just built new filters for my room today. I don't mind sharing the .mdat for that. This photo shows the measurement conditions pretty well. Fritz Carrera 7 BE monitors about 7.5 ft away from the MLP. Dual SVS 3000 Micro subs. So...

    How do my graphs look?

True, but I suspect there's more going on here than asymmetry. Without knowing more about how these measurements were taken, all bets are off on a rational interpretation of the data. :)

    How do my graphs look?

What speakers are actually playing for "Right", "RS", and "RS2"? I had assumed that "Right" was the right speaker alone, and that "RS" was the right sub by itself. Not sure what "RS2" might be...perhaps a second sub on the right side? However, all three of these speakers, "Right", "RS", and...

    DAC Advice Needed

Not sure that I would agree with that. Fiber has been around for a long time (decades). It's essential when you're dealing with distances of hundreds of feet to miles. However, I don't see it replacing copper network interconnects for shorter runs in home and office environments. Some folks...

    Topping balanced PA5 amplifier

Thanks for sharing part two of your subjective impressions. What still has me puzzled is that the PA5's measurements show less distortion than just about anything except for the Benchmark AHB2. Same for the E50 DAC (lower distortion than most DACs, regardless of price). So, I'm not sure where...
