Improving measurements with a new mic

Before I had theMotu, I used a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for recording and the OktoDAC8 for playback. With measurements of more than 5 seconds, things usually started to stutter or loud clicks sounded, making the measurement unreliable. Measurements of 5 seconds were not affected by this, but the...

Improving measurements with a new mic

The difference will be within tolerance, as you noted. In any case, the difference between the Motu and measuring with 2 different devices is a fact. Measurements longer than 5 seconds were not possible anyway.

Improving measurements with a new mic

I took a screenshot from another computer with Al, this makes it look like I measured with Asio4All, but it was with a Motu and their asio drivers. As you can see, the difference is not earth-shattering, but it is present and repeatable. The step response was also slightly better at 10 seconds...

Improving measurements with a new mic

I have exactly the same measuring setup. Have you tried increasing recording time? If I go from 5 to 10 seconds, the time delay of the drivers changes

    Audiolense and Okto dac8 pro

I had the same problem. However, the measurement was carried out correctly. After reinstalling Audiolense, the speaker check control was working correct again.

Hi Mitch, Sorry I bothered you on your vacation. I didn't expect the solution to be so simple. It works perfectly. My heartfelt thanks. Have a nice continuation of your holiday. Cornelis

I saved the files in a folder. How do I get that folder in HLC? He only wants wav, zip cfg or that

    Need help

Hi Mitch, Today I started working with your directions, but probably not well. I put the 4 Audiolense cfg formats (including wav files) in a zip file and loaded it into the convolver. Only the 44.1kHz file was loaded. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Mitch, Thanks for your help. I have a family weekend now, but as soon as I can, I'll get started with your tips

    Need help

Now that HLC works in Audirvana and I have access to hires material thanks to a Qobuz subscription, I wonder what the best format is to store .cfg files; 44.1kHz or 96kHz? The measurement was done with a sample rate of 96 kHz.

    Need help

Last night I received an email saying that the problems with the integration of the HL convolver have been solved. Just before going to sleep, computer stuff isn't such a good idea. This morning I immediately started things with the idea that this would take a while. To my surprise everything...

    Need help

So far I used JRiver and the Hang Loose convolver to play music and it works flawlessly. Now I plan to subscribe to a streaming service. JRiver is less suitable for that, so I took out a trial license for Audirvana. I can't get Audivarna to work with the Hangloose convolver. Two channels works...

    Step response

You're absolutely right, Omid; the frequency target is of course the most important, but small changes in the extremes of the frequency target curve may be less audible, but will affect the step response. For example, by refraining from extra amplification in the bass. Unfortunately, the...

    Step response

Both are step response targets. I turned off the simulations. I was just wondering which is more important; a high step or a rapid descent. But it's not that simple, I understand.
