    Spl meter and more....

I just read on minidsp that the umik-1 comes with two cal files. One for two channel and one for 5+ home theater. For pointing it to the ceiling. So cross spectrum is not unique in that way. Why do a hand full of people tell me to get it from cross spectrum?

    Spl meter and more....

So I've decided with the umik 1.someone on another page also brought up cross spectrum. Said they calibrate each mic individually and also give a couple cal files, one for ht, allowing more accurate measurements having the mic pointed up instead of at the source. Make sense? Any one familiar...

    New HSU

I have done it just as you have recommended. Now I'm buying a umik-1 and going to try and learn about REW. I read somewhere that I should get it from cross-spectrum because the have a better calibration file?is it really worth the more $$ they charge compared to say parts express? Might need...

    New HSU

The low bars are just another term for jumpers, factory jumpers from high to mid, mid to low. I have (had) the low jumpers off and the subs connected with the lfe/rca jack, speakers set at small. For the most part I've done what you've recommended, and many others. I put the low jumper back in...

Thanks guys! I was interested in that combo awhile back but never went through with the purchasing part of it. I've had quite a few guys telling me to get omnimic also. Awful lot of money at the moment considering I know nothing about calibration. 300$ vs. 100$ for the umik. Trying to figure out...

    New HSU

Just got a new HSU VTF-15 mk2 for Christmas. My mains are deftech bp-2000's with the low bars off, set as small and hooked to the sub outs of my AVR. I was thinking , not knowing, about putting the low bars back in, removing the rca/lfe and using the speaker's sub controls to control the 2000's...

HSU Research's ULS-15 MK2 Subwoofer Giveaway Entry Thread

I have definitive technology bp-2000's and bp-10's. Guys told me to get a sub(s) for my next addition instead of using the 2000's built ins. I have been told HSU was the best fit for my taste and budget by numerous forums, even over the PB-16 ultra recently. Guys said two HSU's would be better...

The JTR Speakers Captivator 118HT Subwoofer Giveaway Entry Thread

Wow! What an opportunity. I've been researching subs for a year now and the JTR name keeps popping up in many audiophile forums. Just too far out of my price range but now........ My entire system ($10,000) and music collection 1000 cds and albums was stolen 10 years ago. I gave up on my audio...
