    2.5-way DSP crossover - help

If you are still interested in understanding shelf filters here is a good reference - Shelf Filters One of the confusing things about shelf filters is you can specify a Q or a slope to define the filter. The highest Q you want to use is 0.707. Any higher and you get peaks in the filter...

    2.5-way DSP crossover - help

I am afraid I am only familiar with programming a mindsp openDRC-DA8 or Camilla software using a sound card (ASUS Xonar Essense STX ii 7.1) on a linux pc. I also use REM to measure the speaker response. I abandoned Windows long ago although these days Apple has taken its place as the Evil...

What are you using for a DSP crossover (hardware/software)?

Active vs Passive Speakers... Do you have a preference?

You need 22 channels of dac's that are word synced. What are you considering for that? The only thing I can think of are RME pcie cards or external dacs that can be all word synced together.

Active vs Passive Speakers... Do you have a preference?

I have a question if anyone has heard of the following for a dsp crossover. All my audio signals go through my htpc so the audio coming out of the htpc is digital. Currently, the audio output is via spdif to the openDRC DA-8 miniDSP processor which has 8 channels. Is there software I can run...

Active vs Passive Speakers... Do you have a preference?

My home theater system is triamped. Minidsp openDRC DA-8 (SPDIF input but it is no longer available) for crossovers and room correction. Tweeters and midbass CBT36k (thank you Don Keele also no longer available). Two Dayton Audio RSS460HO-4 18" Reference Series HO subwoofers and cabinets...

Active vs Passive Speakers... Do you have a preference?

Active without a doubt. I just wish that companies that make multichannel (7.1, 10.2, etc.) signal processors (such as Emotiva, Yamaha, etc.) that do room correction would also include the software so you could have dsp crossovers with fewer speakers (reallocate the channels to support dsp...

Help choosing a DSP processor for an all analog 2 channel system. MiniDSP 2x4HD is not my taste.

Have considered a good two channel dac (Emotiva Big Ego + or fancier) and Jriver software on you computer? The problem there would be analog inputs. If you can find one look at (using your computer again) a ASUS essence stx ii. It has a good DAC (with pluggable output OPAMPS) and ADC so you...

Help choosing a DSP processor for an all analog 2 channel system. MiniDSP 2x4HD is not my taste.

After looking at the articles on you Tannoy speakers and your subwoofers I would ask how your bi-amplifying the subwoofers with the Tannoy's. What is the crossover frequency and what are the crossover filter functions? How does the system sound if you just use the Tannoy's as full range speakers?

Help choosing a DSP processor for an all analog 2 channel system. MiniDSP 2x4HD is not my taste.

In looking at the specs for the Pathos Heritage I see that while there is a line level pre-out there is no line level pre-in (what us old timers would call a tape loop). In order to use a signal processor with your amp (be able to use the power amplification stage) you would need an independent...

If you do not need a dsp crossover (not including subwoofers) you could look at the Emotiva A/V signal processors - Basic - BasX MC1 13.2 Channel Dolby Atmos® & DTS:X™ Cinema Processor High End - RMC-1 16 Channel Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Cinema Processor Please note that in my system I use a...

Video Review: SiliconDust's HDHomeRun FLEX 4K

I have been using a HD Homerun Prime for years with cable TV (Verizon Wash DC region). I am running linux (Ubuntu 20.04) and use Kodi as my video and sound server. The Kodi add on for the various Homerun devices works quit well and also lets one record (dvr/pvr) if they have payed $35/yr for...
