Hmm... going back 10 years...
The main listening room remains the same ...
I've rebuilt the Mission 751 speakers that are my main speakers with new drivers and x-over designed for them using REW, XSim, DATS and a good mike, as the original drivers had fallen apart. The only thing Mission 751...
As the title suggests, would it be possible to have an uncorrelated stereo signal (e.g. pink noise) added as a test signal?
This would be useful for those systems like BT speakers that have stereo speakers that are located very close together.
Is it possible to have separate audio device preferences for impedance and frequency response measurement?
It would be great to use the DATS v3 hardwarewith REW for impedance measurement and a separate USB audio device for frequency response measurement (so all measurements can be done in the...
Shucks - I was hoping that the info about the various EQs and their settings were hidden in a config file somewhere....
A user-configurable EQ would be a great addition to REW.
Pardon me if the question has been asked before. Is it possible to add remove EQs from the list provided under the EQ option? I've got an ESX DSP installed in my car and it would be great if I can somehow add it to the list (and remove several of the others that I will probably never use).
I've tried it. Nearfield is definitely better.... if you're the only person who's listening to the system and you plan to stay in the same location all the time. As the subwoofer is very close to you, the amplitude of the direct sound from the subwoofer is much higher than the amplitude of any...
Funny, my Windows tablet just croaked on me, so it's time to buy a new tablet. The only thing preventing me from choosing an Android solution is the unavailability of an Android-based version of REW for loudspeaker measurement, which was one of the uses of my old tablet.
I've actually used, and measured the Evid 6.2s (for an install in the local Yacht Club here). I'm not sure that I'd recommend them for the purpose you've described. The 4.2s might be a bit better for your application (they have a flatter response down to 100 Hz), but I still found that they...
I forgot to answer the first question. The REW measurement is in red. Measuring via REW does provide a few advantages, including longer sweep options and of course the ability to do all of the impedance and FR testing in one piece of software, so I will likely be using REW with the DATS...
Ok, so I've been a bit of an idiot. When I saw the "Calibration" option in REW, I reflexively thought it would be similar to the calibration process in the DATS software.
It Isn't.
The calibration process in the DATS software is done as follows:
1. Short the leads, run the "test lead...
Ok, thanks John. I'll take a closer look. I just stumbled across this a day or so ago, when wondering if I could use REW directly with the DATS v2 hardware to take impedance measurements, rather than using the DATS software and then exporting the data and importing it into REW.
The other...
I've found a way to get REW to do impedance measurements using the DATS v2 hardware, but to get it to work a bit better, I need to be able to set the value for the measurement level higher than the apparent maximum of -3dB that can be set in the measurement dialog box. Is there any way to do this?
