Integra Announces Its New DTM-7 Network Stereo Receiver
Integra Home Theater(May 4, 2017) Integra Home Theater, a subdivision of Onkyo geared towards the custom installer, has officially announced its first new product of 2017. The DTM-7 Network Stereo Receiver is priced right (MSRP $650 US / $850 CAD) and loaded with quite a bit of next-gen audio and connectivity options.
The video landscape has rapidly evolved over the last year, effectively rendering some previously “future proof” HDMI 2.0 capable gear as outdated. Keeping with current trends, the DTM-7 ships with onboard support for the latest HDR platforms, including Dolby Vision, Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG), and HDR10. Of course, its HDMI capabilities also support 4K/60Hz, Wide Color Gamut and HDCP 2.2 copy protection. All totaled, the DTM-7 carries 4 HDMI inputs and a lone HDMI output.
On the audio front, the DTM-7 relies on an AKM AK4438 384 kHz/32-bit high-grade DAC for digital to analog conversion. To help tame circuit noise, Onkyo’s Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC) has been incorporated to compare input and output audio signals, filtering pulse noise created during the conversion process for super clean sound. Owners will also enjoy access to Hi-Res audio (up to 192kHz/24-Bit) stored on a home computer, media drive, network attached storage, or a USB memory stick. The receiver carries support for gapless playback of FLAC, WAV, ALAC, and WMA files, in addition to 2.8 or 5.6MHz DSD.
The convenience of streaming music is also offered by the DTM-7, using both onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (Ethernet is also an option). Music can be tapped via AirPlay and a host of streaming services, including Pandora, TuneIn, TIDAL, and Spotify Connect. Integra has included Chromecast built-in, DTS Play-Fi, and FireConnect for wireless multi-room audio streaming, in addition to the Integra Control Pro app for music playback via a handheld device.
The DTM-7 offers generous power considering its price. Integra rates the receiver’s output at 100 Watts per channel (8 Ohms, 1 kHz, 2 Channels) with 40 amps of high instantaneous current. This is a straight two-channel amp.
Because the DTM-7 is a custom install model, it carries various system integration features such as RS232 and IP control with support for two-way communication with various home automation systems. Owners can program two 12-volt triggers to operate home automation items such as a drop down movie screen or curtains.
More information about the DTM-7 (including access to an owner’s manual) is available here.
