This is the woofer suggested for the tuba if you want more @20Hz in the tubsa.

This is the sub that is suggested for the Joseph Crow sub we are building. The sub requires 2 of them per sub, and 2 cabinets will be used(which is the same one suggested for the Tuba, but they said if you want to go deeper buy the one I did for the Tuba...so I did.

Here is the info on the Joseph Crowe subs I am building.

Recommended amp.

The amp is a 4ohm amp.

Now here it talks about different ways to wire the coils for different impedances.

Now what I am trying to find out is if the 2nd (tuba woofer) to last sub is going to work in the Joseph Crowe sub ok. I do not understand how to compare the woofers to know. All I did see was the Tuba sub appears to have more SPL @ 20hz when the dual voice coils are wired in Parallel. The problem is when wired in Parallel the impedance is just under 1ohm! Now if I understand correctly...I can then wire both subs together in Series and the impedance will go to 2ohms. Now the Joseph Crow woofer @20Hz is 76.6db @1meter/1 watt.
The Tuba woofer is coils are wired in Series it is pretty much the same, but when when the voice coils are wired in Parallel it is 82db.

I am assuming that when you add a 2nd woofer the efficiency goes up 3db, but I see adding a 2nd sub is 6db, and then you have the room gain which I have heard could be as much as 9db with a single subwoofer.

Will the Tuba woofer perform as well as the Crowe woofer if the Tuba woofer is corner loaded and the crowe woofer is not?

1 ohm in parallel equals 4 ohms in series

If you have a way to accurately run an impedance curve, I am happy to help. A Dayton DAT 2 or Dat 3 is inexpensive and works well..... If you can measure an impedance curve, I can supply guidance to design a proper impedance correction circuit for the 2 woofers running in parallel.

Thanks, I decided to just build the LilMikes F20 horn sub as it is supposedly an easier build and performs better...although it is 2' taller.

Glad you figured it out. I've been doing speaker design for 40 years, just let me know if I can help.
