Hi,
Rotel receiver RSX-1562 enable us to manually eq each channels. I think that all Rotel receivers and pre-amp has this possibility because no Rotel products come with a built-in PEQ like Audyssey Dirac or YPAO for instance.

Here are the specifications we have:

BAND 1 Freq : 20Hz - 80Hz, 1Hz Step Default 40 Hz
BAND 2 Freq: 20Hz - 80Hz, 1Hz Step Default 60 Hz
BAND 3 Freq: 81Hz - 140Hz, 1Hz Step Default 100 Hz
BAND 4 Freq: 81Hz - 140Hz, 1Hz Step Default 120 Hz
BAND 5 Freq: 141Hz - 200Hz, 1Hz Step Default 160 Hz
BAND 6 Freq: 1110Hz - 1550 Hz, 10Hz Step Default 1300 Hz
BAND 7 Freq: 1560Hz - 2000 Hz, 10Hz Step Default 1750 Hz
BAND 8 Freq: 2.1kHz - 8kHz, 100Hz Step Default 4k Hz
BAND 9 Freq: 8.1kHz - 14kHz, 100Hz Step Default 10k Hz
BAND 10 Freq: 14.1kHz - 20kHz, 100Hz Step Default 16k Hz
Q : 1 - 24
Gain : -12dB - 0 - +3dB

I thought that MiniDsp would work for the sub channel and NanoAvr for the speakers? I am not sure to get the best results even with the "generic".
Since Dual core has been added I risk to ask if it could be possible (complicated) to add Rotel in REW?

It’s really impossible for John to accommodate every receiver on the market. You can try the generic setting, but there’s no guarantee it will work well, because different equalizers calculate bandwidth differently. If the generic setting doesn’t work well, it’ will be best to just use pink noise with the RTA feature and tweak the filters in real time.

Wayne

i understand. I read in Rew index the caracteristics of each Equalizer and tried the one who seems to be the closest of the above Rotel filters, maybe a too simplistic approach?

Not at all, seems pretty smart to me! If it appears the Generic setting best matches your Rotel, then that’s the place to start.
