For those of you looking for a more reasonably priced OLED display, Vizio has hit the market with their OLED product.

RTINGS review

Best Buy must have some sort of exclusive on them cause that's the only place that I have seen them for sale - ~$2K for a 65" model and $1300 for the 55".

I have a 10 y.o. Vizio chugging along just fine after all of these years, but it is definitely long in the tooth. I'd like to stick with the brand and this gives me the option to do so. I'll wait for the kinks to be ironed out, or maybe for the second generation.

Interesting note from RTINGS.com... they give Vizio's OLED55-H1/65-H1 good marks, but their conclusion states:

"The Vizio OLED is impressive overall; it delivers perfect blacks, and compared to other Vizio TVs we've tested, it doesn't have any issues upscaling lower-resolution content. However, it has too many bugs at launch and its VRR support doesn't actually work. If you don't mind spending a bit more money, the LG BX OLED is a better entry-level option. Also see our recommendations for the best TVs, best OLED TVs, and best Vizio TVs."

They were using firmware 5.10.14.1-1 for the review.

Variable Refresh Rate or VRR is meant to reduce screen tearing for video games. Doesn't properly work. Also, while playing back HDR content the screen gets significantly dimmer. And they noted "noticeable temporary image retention."

Sounds like Vizio has some work to do on the software side of things.

Vizio OLEDs dropped in price, as suspected - 65” for $1499 and the 55 for $1299.

I wouldn't mind upgrading to an OLED, but still enjoying our Vizio in the great room from 2017. Maybe in a couple more years they'll have all the bug worked out.

I have a 65" Samsung QLED. Considering it's primarily used for Wheel of Fortune, the news, and other non-critical viewing, it's a great picture, but I would definitely not say it was worth the price tag I paid. I kept going back and forth between a 55" LG OLED and the 65" QLED, and because of the high ceilings in my room, I decided on bigger screen. And, like I said, I'm generally pretty happy with it, until I really look and can easily see the local dimming, etc. Samsung's OS is relatively annoying as well.

So, it's great for having the Wheel on while cooking or whatever, but I won't buy another one. Its replacement will absolutely be OLED.

I don't think there will ever be a display, or pretty much anything, that will satisfy everyone's needs. Some people always have to complain about something or another.

If you want to go with an OLED right now the best are the Sony's. The best bang for your buck are the LG BX line.
