Vizio Introduces 2017 SmartCast M-Series, P-Series, and Soundbar Models
Vizio(April 26, 2017) Yesterday, Vizio released details about a variety of new SmartCast AV products including new M-Series and P-Series 4K HDR TVs, along with a stable of new soundbars.
Headlining Vizio’s new product parade are three new P-Series Ultra HD HDR XLED Pro televisions. The new 2017 lineup carries Dolby Vision and HDR10 content support, in addition to full-array local dimming and Vizio’s Ultra Color Spectrum technology capable of producing over one billion colors. Black level performance is enhanced by up to 128 local dimming zones.

Pricing for P-Series TVs ranges from $1,299 for a 55-inch to $3,499 for a 75-inch screen size.
The step-down M-Series offers many of the same picture performance technologies as the P-Series, including Dolby Vision and HDR10 support, Ultra Color Spectrum, and Xtreme Black Engine Plus. Cost reductions in the M-Series were made by reducing the number of local dimming zones to 32, limiting the screen refresh rate to 120Hz, and offering a slightly less powerful version of frame interpolation (called Clear Action).

Vizio also revealed a new line of soundbars, anchored by the Vizio SmartCast 36-inch 5.1 Wireless Soundbar System. The new soundbars all feature built-in Chromecast for easy streaming of songs from various services (including IHeartRadio, Google Play Music, Spotify, Pandora, and others) over Wi-Fi from Chromecast enabled apps. Vizio priced the line to fall in a category of excellent affordability. It’s 28-inch 2.0 version carries a $79 price tag, while the 36-ich 5.1 costs $249.
