This series has potential, Im not a fan of the relationship with the DR and the engineer and I dont think too many fans were either as they seem to have ended it (I wont spoil how). With the soon to be introduction of a young Spok and Captain Pike this series has some staying power. And now with the announcement that Patrick Stewart will return in a continuation of the TNG series Star Trek is again back on television for some time I hope.

this was one of those "I loved parts of it, hated other parts of it" series. the first few eps were rocky but it caught it's groove...up until the "mirror universe" episodes where it went off the rails a bit with a bizarre side plot

Well, I've been watching season 2 and I must admit I'm hooked! The story has really gotten good with some really good show cliffhangers. I find it interesting that some episodes are a full 1hr 15min long so they can really get the details they need in.

so season 2 is turning out good? I liked part of season one ,but the end 5 or 6 eps in the Mirror universe totally killed it for me in season 1. Felt like Battle star trek more than actual TREK at that point. I've been having more fun with The Orville as a Trek replacement recently anyways

Yes, Its really gained traction.
Ive heard the Orville is good but have not gotten around to watching season 1 yet as I can't find anybody that streams it up here in Canada. I may just buy the box set
