I am curious about two things with the room simulator...

1) Is it possible to do non-rectangular rooms? if not, is there a program that does, or a link to the math used?

2) When selecting how much sound each wall absorbs, what are some good tips? What value would plaster be? Brick? Carpet? Couches?

Rooms that aren't rectangular need to be solved by finite element methods as there are no closed form solutions for them. Example programs are ABEC (http://www.randteam.de/ABEC3/Index.html) and Soundeasy (http://www.bodziosoftware.com.au/).

There are example absorption coefficients at https://www.acousticalsurfaces.com/acoustic_IOI/101_13.htm

Note that absorption is frequency-dependent, so use the values for the frequency range which the simulator covers.

Thanks. Given that most systems with n>3 have no closed solutions (yet we got to the moon!) I'm surprised there arnt more interpolation programs. With that said, would it be possible to build a room in UE4 or Unity with Steam Audio and get results? The audio occlusion and reflection is really impressive!
