Reaching out to AV heads for some advice. I am running a 5.1.2 speaker setup. My av receiver was the Pioneer 502. I'm having problems with it, plus it's my 3rd Pioneer receiver and I've had issues with them all. So I'm looking to move from Pioneer. I really love the sound for movies, but too many problems. I really like the clarity and the way it was able to really make my system come alive moving from speaker to speaker. I'm upgrading and I've narrowed my decision to two receivers. The Yamaha 3070 and the Marantz 7012. This receiver is going to be use 95% for movies and TV. It's going into my family room. We're big on movies, my fam. We watch two together almost every weekend. With two teenagers, this has become one of the only times we all regularly get together to enjoy the same thing. We really enjoy action movies. We love to hear the sound travel from speaker to speaker. We also appreciate detail. The boom of an explosion and the tiny rings of breaking glass. Which one will serve us best? I throw my question to you experts out there.

I wouldn't even think twice about it... Audyssey is superior to YPAO, especially in the bass area with 512 filters of resolution, but it's really better in every way. I've had both... the latest YPAO and Audyssey... really no comparison, and it will make your movies more enjoyable.
