Hi everyone. My new Streamer DAC does not have USB input. In this case can I still do the measurement then correction by Audiolense? If it is possible please give me some guidance to make it done :)

Many thanks,

You need to provide more information.
Which streamer DAC is it, and does it provide any means of taking an input signal?

Audiolense does not care about the hardware connection. It needs to see an ASIO or WASAPI driver.

My Streamer DAC is Lumin X1. I play music from Roon on an Intel NUC to the Lumin X1 via wired network. The convolution is on Roon.

Is there an option to play the sample noise file on Roon to Lumin X1 while doing measurements in Audiolense, or any other ways please help. Thank you :)

I know with REW you can record a timed reference sweep and load it into your Roon library. Then when you start the measure it will wait on you to play that recorded sweep thru Roon and start recording the sweep based on the timing reference. I'm not sure if Audiolense can do this or not, but it might be a nice feature for Bernt to add at some point.

However... he may have a way to measure the sweep via wifi... but I'm not that familiar with it at this point. Thankfully my SHD has a USB port to send the sweep signal thru.

Roon, or Lumin X1, should be able to act as a soundcard for Audiolense, otherwise I don't believe it is possible.

Yes yes... The REW timing reference sweep is exactly way I am looking for with Audiolense

Good idea. Might be something makes Roon as virtual sound on my laptop when I install both Audiolense and Roon on it.

I use a Bel Canto streamer that also has no USB input. For AL, I used an inexpensive 2-channel USB DAC specified by Mitch Barnett (@Mitchco) to measure. Then, I applied those filters in Roon for the Bel Canto streamer and it worked great. Another way to solve your issue. JCR

Yep. It seems I have to get an extra USB DAC for AL :)

Actually, the Lumin X1 does have USB capability... @ds2k does not utilize it in the current system configuration... I have a Lumin U1 mini that connects to the rest of my system via wired Ethernet also... DLNA/UPnP is another way to communicate to Lumin streamers...

It is possible to run REW on a laptop (MacBookPro), sending a sweep via wired Ethernet to the Lumin and measure with a microphone connected to the laptop via USB...

Cool. When I'm building filters for digital room correction, I tend to not get too hung up on which DAC plays the sweeps. Amplitude and timing variations from DAC to DAC are infinitesimal compared to room modes and phase variation from passive crossover networks.

For example, my main DAC is the NEO iDSD from iFi Audio; however, I use my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 to play and record the sweeps. Once I have built and uploaded the filters to Roon's convolution engine, I use saved sweep files to check my work via the DAC of my choice. End-to-end measured results correlate pretty much perfectly to the predicted results, even for step response.

Thanks. With the same filter in Roon but 2 different DACs I can still recognize that 2 DAC gave different sounds and emphasized to different frequency ranges. That is why I prefer doing the filter for each specific DAC.

I intend to buy the Forcusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio Pack to record my guitar playing... Will give it a try then.
