Perhaps I don’t recognize the answer when I see it….but I’ve tried searching and it’s still confusing to me.

All I want to do is try and time align my left speaker to my right speaker in a two channel stereo setup. Or at least check to make sure they are properly time aligned.

Could someone please be kind enough to give me the simple steps to do this. I have been using REW for a bit, so I guess I would say I’m not completely clueless.

And maybe I am doing it right, but I am expecting a different answer.

I have a calibrated microphone umik, and my DAC is a Denafrips Venus 2.

Thanks so much.

Measure with acoustic timing reference, set the reference output to the left channel. Measure left, then measure right, then compare the delay figures and/or look at the impulse responses on the Impulse graph of the overlays window.

Ok….I’ve basically figured that out. So, I’m finding the the numbers vary quite a bit. Say, I just keep doing that same process over and over again….without moving the speakers or mic, I’m getting different values.

Is that normal? What kind of accuracy should be expected from this method?

Thanks so much for the help.

So…. You’re probably going to laugh, and say that these look pretty good, right? I actually did do a couple more and they did stay pretty much the same.

Last time I experimented with this, I had a fairly large wideband driver…. And now I’m using a regular two-way bookshelf. Maybe that was why I was getting larger inconsistencies?

Thanks
