New member here and joined thanks to Todd's help. I jumped into home theater back in 2015 when I decided to install a projector and needed to upgrade my ancient receiver. The local AV shop almost laughed at me when they heard I was planning on using tiny satellite speakers with a 100 inch screen. Thankfully, they set me on the right path with a nice Klispch RP 5.1 setup. I decided to upgrade again this year with Dolby Atmos, which sent me spiraling down the rabbit hole. First, I thought I would just grab two upfiring speakers and get a receiver that could do Atmos. This led to a serious upgrade in a receiver to the Marantz SR6013. Of course, I then wanted rear Atmos, so I had to buy an amplifier for those additional speakers (I have the receiver also running two speakers in another room for music). Then I made the mistake of posting my setup on Reddit where I was shamed for my 15 year old Polk sub, and rightfully so. I made up for that by going with the SVS PB-3000 (sorry to my neighbors). Now, a few months later and several thousand poorer, I'm rocking a 5.1.4 setup that I'm completely loving.
