from cnbc,

"Netflix's cheapest Basic plan will cost $9, up from $8; its most popular HD Standard plan will cost $13, up from $11; and its 4K Premium plan will cost $16, up from $14"

"The rate hikes constitute a jump of between 13 percent and 18 percent — the company's biggest increase since launching its streaming service 12 years ago — and will take effect immediately for new customers. Existing subscribers will be see the price increase on their bills over the next three months."

A lot of people at my work were talking about this and many are buying jail broken devices with Kodi to replace Netflix, Hulu, etc.

I believe the last increase was $1 back in Nov ‘17. This would be the 2nd increase in the past 14 months. :explode:

Netflix is getting deep into debt...who knows how long they will remain in business.

They have to pay for all of their "original" programming one way or another. Plus, they are not really going against password sharing.

A) I wish Netflix would just drop the catalog and focus on being an original content provider. The catalog has really become more of an also-ran.
B) I tried the kodi boxes once, and had zero luck, even less enjoyment. I'd rather just pay for my content, as dirt-cheap as it's become. I'm not really interested in having to troubleshoot, download updates and patches, and find new apps every time I want to watch something.
