Need help with Sony's XBR65X900F

My neighbor's Sony XBR65X900F has been fantastic for my 80+ year old neighbors

But that changed a couple days...

The TV's standard remote is used. When the remote's volume buttons are use, the TV's audio goes up or down as per the button being used on the remote ALONG with the TV's volume display that pops up on the screen

Something happed a couple days ago and I cannot find the reason by going into the TV's settings.

The remote's volume buttons still work the TV's volume slider display BUT...

...The TV's audio no longer goes up or down while using the remote volume buttons. The TV's speakers work but the volume of the audio no longer goes up or down. It seems stuck.

Anyone know why the TV's audio no longer goes up or down when using remote??

I have a similar Sony, and had problems with sound output to Bluetooth and a soundbar.

I had to load a newer version of the TV's O.S. to fix the problems. The Sony site will have downloads, you put them on a USB stick. There's USB inputs on the back of the TV. The TV will prompt you when you insert the stick.
