(August 13, 2020) Canada’s NAD Electronics has revealed a wide range of high-performance audio components over the last several years and is showing no sign of slowing down. Recently, the company added to its Masters Series product lineup by revealing its all-new M28 Seven Channel Power Amplifier. Priced at $4,999, the M28 is positioned as a top-shelf contender, offering enthusiasts access to 200 watts per channel (8 ohms).

This isn’t the first time NAD has licensed Purifi’s Eigentakt (self-clocking) amplifier technology, as it previously appeared in the NAD M33 Masters Series BluOS Streaming DAC Amp. Purifi’s design was developed following a careful dissection of amplifier performance. This analysis led to a number of small changes paired with proprietary PCB layouts and advanced mathematical modeling for audio output complete with less noise and lower distortion. The resulting sound, says NAD, is laced with refinement at the lowest and highest volume levels.

The amp, itself, is Class D by design. However, unlike some rival Class D amps, the M28 is highly adaptable to loudspeaker load and can competently handle long cable runs. Additionally, it handles clipping with benign Class A/B grace, possessing the ability to instantly recover.

Styled to match the NAD Masters Series M17 V2i Pre/Pro, the M28 presents owners with both single-ended and XLR inputs, along with quality speaker binding posts.

Shipping is set to begin this month. For more information visit NAD Electronics on the web.
