Dear All: I was wondering, What's the difference between filters: Peak (Pk) and Modal?
Aren´t both band pass filters? If so, for digital room correction I may use any of both to compensate a room mode.
Or is there is any difference between them? Which?
Thank you in advance.
I look forward to your comments.
Best!
Alejandro.

Modal filters are Peak filters whose Q or bandwidth is adjusted by REW as their gain is changed to ensure they target the specified T60 value as closely as the equaliser settings resolution permits. If that T60 value matches the decay time of a modal resonance and the centre frequency matches the mode's frequency it will be cancelled and the room's decay at that frequency will become the decay of the filter.
