Looking for advice on how too hookup a 4k projector and 4k disk player and 4k cable box without a 4K audio receiver?

I would be using the following equipment:
Denon AVR4520CI
Dish Hopper 4k
JVC DLA RS1000/DLA NX5
UB820 Player

Basically looking for guidance on what cables run to where. This is my work around until I can afford a new receiver with 4k for my 11.4 system.

I am not sure the Denon will pass the 4K, but you can try it in pass-through mode on the Denon. You may have handshake issues.

I think you may have to run separate HDMI cables to the projector and bypass the video on the Denon. One input for the Hopper and one for the UB820 on the projector, then of course out to audio as well. You'll have to use a splitter on the Hopper... I don't think it has dual HDMI out. It may have optical out, which would work.

simple really. the UB820 should have dual HDMI output. wire one HDMI cable to your JVC from the player direct, then wire the second to your Denon for the audio (it should have one of the two HDMI outs labeled as audio for that reason on the UB820)....

as sonnie said, the Hopper doesn't have dual HDMI outs, so you'd need a splitter or optical as a workaround. It's a bit clunky, but your denon does not have pass through to my knowledge and that's the only workaround until you upgrade your receiver.

While i have your attention..how can i determine what item number a monoprice cable is by looking at the cable?

your cables you have in hand? usually it's near impossible unless they print some of the specs down the sides of the cables.

All it says is 22 AWG High Speed with ethernet then the number 20276. Looking for something i can use to look up and determine more specs.

hmmm, not sure if that's an item number or not. At the very least if it IS an item number it's a discontiuned one as Monoprice doesn't list anything with that number.... and wow, 22awg, thats's a heavy thick cable. I used to use one of those back in the day and they were super heavy and strained the HDMI ports on some of my devices

And I think it is 30-50 feet long....Like a boa constrictor.

I'm trying to figure out the right size fiber to order...but the access above the room is crazy restricted. but i know the cable is coiled up in a pile up there. The bigger issue is going to be finding a way in there too install bracing too support the new projector mount.....
I have no idea how the electrician got in there years back too install can lights in the room when i converted it too a home theater.

You're going to have a really hard time (nearly impossible) to push 4K across 25' or more distance with a passive cable. That's going to require fiber. It may have worked with 1080p, but it will be really hard with 4K.

Your fiber cable can be as long as you want. It's active... you could pull well over 50'!

For the projector... go to lowes and invest in some SUPER heavy duty wall anchors. That should do the trick!

I used two 100lb anchors on my last projector mount that had two mount points and only weighed 22lbs. I just have some concerns or worries about doing it with a heavier projector. The ceiling area I mount on is unique...and I’m not really sure all that is holding up the Sheetrock. I really need to go above and dig around and see how it is assembled...

2.1 cables are out there, for sure. They are not going to be cheap! Not sure of what brands you can trust...

I see some advertised but, I prefer the pony before the trick. When hdmi 2.1 is more readily adapted in equipment and a cable brand/model has proven its reliability.
