(August 7, 2018) Originally announced at CES 2018, Klipsch has officially released refreshed versions of its popular Reference series of speakers and subwoofers. With a total of 13 new models, enthusiasts will find options ranging from Dolby Atmos enabled speakers to powered monitors and subs, featuring design improvements to tantalize both the eyes and ears.

This, the 6thgeneration of Reference series speakers, receives an audio boost from a new Tractrix horn design that’s larger than past versions. When combined with new tweeter and phase plugs, high frequencies are delivered with a renewed accuracy and “improved coverage and bandwidth.” And in addition to newly deployed Dynamic Bass EQ for more audible low frequency playback, both versions of powered monitors carry onboard Bluetooth along with digital optical, RCA, and USB inputs. A turntable can also be fed directly to the monitors, taking advantage of a built-in phono pre-amp.

Visually speaking, the Reference series still carries Klipsch’s highly recognizable spun-copper IMG (injection molded graphite) woofer cones. But the company has graced the series with a modernized look and feel utilizing a new scratch resistant black wood grain vinyl finish, angled feet, and gorgeous low-profile magnetic grilles.

According to Kerry Geist, product manager for Klipsch: “The new Reference series speakers combine modern materials and technology to create an unforgettable, unrivaled music and movie listening experiences at these price points.”
