For those of you who are Apple knowledgeable, I’ve got a large movie library that I’ve ripped and put in an UnRaid server. It’s a mixture of movies and TV shows from Blu-ray to DVD format.

Lately, I’ve been having some issue with my server and trying to stream outside my network. I was wonder, if I can transfer all of my movies to my iTunes account, be able to access these outside network, and stream them just like Plex does?

You know what never mind. I just learned, I would have to format the movies and tv shows to MP4 format. That would just take too long.

From what I’ve been reading, you would have to format the ripped movies to MP4 format in order to play them correctly. 98% of my movies and tv shows are MKV with HD sound. Not worth changing the format just to use iTunes. However, I’m not sure if the new Apple 4K TV supports different formats like MKV. Anyone?
