I figured I would try a different tact with this thread.
I've noticed there are some number of REW users who deploy the Omnimic V2 and I was hoping to get some guidance on how to dial in the one I just purchased.
I was finally able to get REW to recognize my new microphone and I took some initial measurements.
For a quick background, I use the UMIK-1 microphone to setup my listening environment and I'm very happy with the results. I recently modified the UMIK-1 dip switches to give me more headroom (I went from 120db headroom (18db dipswitch setting) to 134db headroom (6db dipswitch setting). I modified the sens and gain parameters in the calibration file accordingly.
With my first Omnimic V2 measurements, I found the resulting graph to look very similar to the UMIK-1 graph, but about 15db higher than the UMIK-1 graph. I also noted that the sweep ran out of headroom. With a -14db AVR volume setting, the UMIK-1 sweeps typically have about 20db-30db headroom. At that same -14dbv volume setting, the Omnimic ran out of headroom at 0db.
I do have the Omnimic calibration file, which is recognized by REW. I noticed it does have a sens parameter, but no gain parameter.
For those of you who deploy the Omnimic V2 with REW, would you be able to give me some pointers?
