How is REW's name supposed to be pronounced?

Is REW supposed to be pronounced 'REW' (like my name without the 'd') or 'R-E-W' (letter-by-letter)? I know that the program's full name is Room EQ Wizard.

I say it letter by letter, but I think it would be a stretch to say there's a right or wrong way to handle an abbreviation.

I decided to ask because I watched some YouTube videos in which REW was mentioned, and they pronounced it as R-E-W, and I was tempted to tell them in a comment to pronounce it as 'roo', and I realized that I'd better first make sure that I am correct. It turns out that although @John Mulcahy isn't saying that there's a right way to say it, now I know that my previous way of saying it is not how he says it!
