Wow. What a crazy CRAZY year 2020 has been.
This year, for me, has been strange on a number of levels. Starting off by recovering from my own, personal, health crisis (in fact, my last visit to John’s Hopkins Medical Center was the same day Maryland announced its first Covid lockdown), I lost my best buddy and loyal companion - Moose, and then COVID became a dominant weight.
I’ve tried to stay positive despite the difficulty of the year. And there’s lots to be thankful for - health in my family (so far!), I’ve managed to get myself into the best physical shape of my life,my oldest daughter signed a letter of intent to swim for an ACC school (and we were able to watch her first college race via stream), and Covid has given me, my wife, and kids a great opportunity to slow down and reconnect. Also, our new puppy - Manny - has been a much needed burst of love and energy.
I hope all of you - all of us! - experience a very happy, healthy, and prosperous 2021. I know the first few months are going to be a continuation of 2020. But there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
I, for one, can’t wait to go to the ballpark. Missed it badly this year.
Happy New Year, AV NIRVANA! If you feel like it, leave a few positive thoughts to help us go into the new year.
