GIK Acoustics Launches Its New Gotham N25 5-inch Skyline Diffusor
GIK Acoustics(May 1, 2017) Long time acoustic treatment manufacturer GIK Acoustics has launched an entirely new style of diffusion product to compliment its range of QRD, scatter, and polycylindrical models. The new “Gotham N23 5” Skyline Diffusor” is a precision-cut, 23-root, two dimension quadratic skyline diffusor. It’s an eye-catching design that’s highly effective for applications where true – even – diffusion is needed.
“Skyline Diffusors have a strong visual impact, but none are quite like our Gotham N23,” said Glenn Kuras, President of GIK Acoustics. “I wanted to design a diffusor that would not only be effective, but would transform the look and aesthetic of a room as well. The Gotham N23 has a beautiful, unique design element that I’ve not seen anywhere else. It’s another product in our line that’s distinctive to GIK Acoustics.”
The purpose of a skyline diffusor is to scatter sound across two planes: horizontal (meaning left and right) and vertical (up and down). This helps a room sound larger. The Gotham N23 accomplishes this through implementing a 23-root calculated quadratic sequence that’s machine cut to within 0.2 millimeters. The planning and precision designed into the Gotham N23 gives it a performance advantage over similar products that feature randomly placed blocks.
GIK Acoustics says the Gotham N23 offers diffusion performance that trumps any other commercially available product, with a working range of 1250Hz to 9500Hz and scattering effects down to 650Hz.
The Gotham N23 is made from earth-friendly medium density fiberboard that can be painted to match any interior design. Each panel is 17.5″ x 17.5″ x 5.5″ and weighs 20 pounds; it’s installed using two sawtooth hangers (not glue). Owners can hang the panel in two different orientations (straight and diagonal), both of which perform the same.
GIK Acoustics is selling the N23 for $179 each or $358 per pair. Click here for ordering information.
