I have a 5.1.2 system running through a Yamaha Aventage RX-A660 receiver. Mostly HT. When a BD is mastered (that the term ?) in either Dolby or DTS can the playback be either Dolby or DTS or is it best to play it back on the corresponding same codec ? Also, if I play it on the Yamaha "Straight" selection won't I get it as the native codec w/o any DSP ?

I would say that it's best to playback the audio track at the corresponding codec. Not sure about Straight on Yamaha, Sorry.
