(May 20, 2022) Denon and Marantz arrived at the 2022 HIGH END Show with four new models geared toward music fans. The products being displayed through Sunday, May 22, include two new integrated amplifiers and two high-performance CD players.

Priced at $2,099 the PMA-1700NE is a slick-looking high-current integrated amplifier, capable of delivering 140 Watts per channel. It carries connectivity for both analog and digital sources, including a moving magnet and moving coil phono inputs as well as optical and coaxial digital inputs for other devices such as TV sound and media player integration. It also offers support for Hi-Res digital music up to 11.2-MHz DSD and 384-kHz/32-bit from a computer. Outputs include A/B gold-plated speaker terminals as well as a subwoofer pre-out, while volume is electronically controlled for smooth, channel-linear adjustments of output levels.

The PMA-900HNE ($949) is a reasonably priced integrated alternative that offers stereo playback with the advantage of HEOS Built-in. Harnessing 85 Watts per channel born from an oversized power supply, the 900HNE is specified to deliver enough power to drive a broad range of speakers. Streaming can be achieved using AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth, in addition to the music services available through the HEOS platform. HEOS also makes multi-room audio a reality when the 900HNE is paired with other HEOS-capable gear. The PMA-900HNE is compatible with high-resolution digital audio ALAC, FLAC, and WAV lossless files up to 24-bit/192 kHz, as well as DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz tracks (the audiophile format of SACD).

Sporting exquisite style, Marantz's new CD 60 CD Player ($999) leverages a new reference DAC with up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution. It plays CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and WMA and MP3 CDs, with support for FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, and DSD via USB sources. It also carries a built-in headphone amp and 1/4" jack. The slightly less expensive Denon DCD-900NE is loaded with advanced AL32 Processing Plus circuitry for precise music reproduction. It features an integrated USB port that supports Hi-Res playback up to PCM 192kHz/24bits and DSD 2.8MHz/5.6MHz.

All of this gear can be found at the HIGH END Show in Munich, May 19-22, or online at Denon and Marantz.
