(December 3, 2019) Denon has officially launched its first full-range sound bar enhanced with DTS Virtual:X performance. Priced at a wallet-friendly $249, the all-new DHT-S216 delivers a full feature set packed in a cabinet that stands a mere 2.35” tall.

Tapping the power of two 1” tweeters, two 1 ¾” x 3 ½” mid-range drivers, and dual 3” down-firing bass drivers, the DHT-S216 utilizes Virtual:X processing to simulate realistic multi-channel audio. The audio experience doesn’t stop there, as onboard Dolby Digital decoding allows for playback of Dolby surround encoded content, while users can also tweak output using three different EQ presets (Movie, Night, and Music) and three dialogue enhancing modes.

Denon says the room-friendly speaker can be mounted and set up in minutes. For TV audio, simply connect an HDMI cable between the DHT-S216 and any compatible HD and 4K TV. This provides access to TV and streaming audio thanks to Audio Return Channel (ARC), while also allowing the sound bar to be controlled by your television’s remote. For situations where ARC isn’t available, an optical input can be used. Additionally, music fans can wirelessly pair their preferred handheld device for playback of music and media via Bluetooth.

“The latest sound bar from Denon has been engineered to deliver the most lifelike listening experience, including detail, balance and bass extension far beyond other sound bars in this size and price range,” said Michael Greco, Global Sr. Director of Brand Management for Denon.
“The DHT-S216 leverages partnerships with the industry’s leading virtual surround sound manufacturers like DTS and Dolby to provide people with a simple way to experience the excitement of cinematic sound quality at home.”

The DHT-S216 is available for purchase now.
