Hi! First time posting.

I ran into a great deal on a Datasat LS10, but I'm wondering how to go about dialing the speakers in.
I matched Levels and adjusted the subwoofer octave curve from 24 to 12, sounds about as good as my NAD T777 V3 with Dirac!

I'd like to slowly learn how to adjust those 10 bands of filters per speaker. Can anyone point me into the right direction??
Please help!!!

REW... download it, get a UMIK-1 and measure your response at your main listening position. Then you can see what filters you need to use to tame any anomalies.

I thought the Datasat had Dirac.

Thank you for your reply! Dirac is an option on the LS10, which mine does not have.

I saw a review where the reviewer calibrated themselves using the following:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Room EQ is a lot less straightforward. While the EQ controls are comprehensive, the only way to achieve an accurate balance in-room is to tweak the filters while running a completely separate real time audio (RTA) analyser. Handily, being an audio geek, I had just a system to hand. So, with a calibrated DBA RTA mic, Roland Quad Capture USB interface and TrueRTA software running on the laptop, I got the LS10 to generate a pink noise tone for analysis to each channel. By manually looking at the measured frequency plot you can then adjust each of the LS10’s 10 EQ filters, across frequency, gain or cut and Q, and witness the effects on the sweep plot in real time.

That is potentially 150 filters ‘to do’ for a full 15-channel system. Given that adjusting any filter will have an impact on adjacent filters, particularly if each has a wide Q, then the time required to properly set up the LS10’s room EQ will be measured in hours rather than minutes. If you love tweaking, the LS10 offers near infinite fettling opportunity. If you want to watch a movie, it’s probably time to call in your Datasat installer.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sounds like that reviewer is doing more than REW. I have no idea!

Yeah... I'd say he's doing it the hard way. I'd get me a mic, download REW and measure my sub(s) and main front speakers. Add a few filters as needed and be done with it. Unless you just wanna punish yourself.

REW is much more straight forward than what he is doing for sure.

Hahaha Ok Sonnie I will buckle down and learn REW.

Negatron, yes I picked up the barebones one on Ebay. I live in Indiana, near Ohio, and no one will touch these things! Even Datasat dealers! So I have to learn : ) No problem, makes me younger right?

My local audio place, seems to know a gentleman who also has an LS10 in the general area. He offered to lend his license and calibration tool so...hopefully that will work out! I'm still taking a crash course in REW..

Good thing I did not buy one... I would not have anyone here in Mexico.
Yes, I sorta of understand why they don't instantly sell on Ebay...not to mention the price!

I remember back when the Universal Remotes were floating around everywhere for sale and no one had the software to program them. I was letting folks download it because I felt sorry for them. I'm not a fan of anything that a dealer has to program for you... it makes no sense at all. You never ever know how long a dealer will be in business, and you are always at their mercy to get anything done.
