(September 5, 2018) Last year MantelMount attacked CEDIA 2017 with a super-slick automated TV mount called the MM850. Utilizing home integration tech, the MM850’s horizontal and vertical articulating functionality could be fully controlled through popular automation systems, delivering a pampered user experience. Add to that built-in Ethernet for software updates and six preset user positions, and the MM850 offered an impressive level of convenience for everyday use.

This year MantelMount is using CEDIA to launch an improved version of the MM850 , dubbed the MM855. The company says it’s listened to the installer community, and the MM855 is injected with improvements to further streamline the installer and user experience. Those enhancements include:

  • New software for smoother operation with better overall stability
  • Improved heat management to avoid unit overheating during installations
  • An upgraded capacitor to suppress unwanted electrical noise and deliver more accurate power-sensing
  • Six control systems: Control4, URC, RTI, Savant, Crestron, and the included remote control

Of course, much like last year’s MM850, the new MM855 can safely be installed directly over a fireplace. Using a heat-sensing thermocouple and temperature sensing technology, the mount will automatically retract a television to a fully-raised position if it measures dangerous levels of heat.

While the MM855 delivers premium functionalities, it also carries a premium price tag with a suggested MSRP of $1,999. For more information visit mantelmount.com.
